Maybe you could bargain with them. Tell them where they came up short service-wise in your mind, and that their service recovery efforts were lame at best. Perhaps you could get a free tux for night of the town (hopefully with complimentary top hat, cane, and monocle).

It baffles me why companies pursue efforts half-heartedly. There are some many different routes that could have been taken but proliferating a service loser – ineffective web site / presence with inconsistent pricing. They would have been better served to strictly provide a web presence with no online reservation system indicating to call during business hours than to scare people away with a poor website. How is one going to expect good service at the hotel if they are jaded up front.

PS – I did eat at KFC last night and had zero service issus (food was hot, provided fast, service was friendly and even had some charisma).
